In the last organising meeting several people expressed their concern about the future for Cooperation Birmingham. We need to acknowledge that the current form and scale of the organisation has been possible because of the Warehouse Cafe being closed and many workers being on furlough. But that situation is starting to change. It’s getting harder everyday to fill the rota with participants, and the Warehouse Cafe is starting to think about opening their doors again.

In the meeting we agreed that it’s time to start thinking about the future. The solidarity kitchen was a great effort of relief in a time of extreme need, but it’s not sustainable in the long term. Thus, instead of letting it die slowly, we think it’s probably wise to collectively envision a sustainable future for Cooperation Birmingham in which as many of us as possible will be involved.

@Sergio and I made a plan for tomorrow’s meeting. You will need to access this google presentation at the same time as attending the call: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1rUeHhUKddAlXA49_MLl2fCK5PKhGowVgDAwelpbjeT8/edit#slide=id.g88c7340c33_0_27
